Natalie Imbruglia, oh she of Neighbours, has got a new album in the works. Due for release October 5, it's titled 'Come To Life' and will feature the sort of MOR pop that has seen her sell millions of albums internationally.
While that's all well and good, it's the album's association with Coldplay and Brian Eno that has attracted all the attention. Three of the tracks (including first single, 'Want') were co-written by Coldplay. Brian Eno produced one of the other Coldplay assisted tracks, 'Lukas'.
Say what you will about Chris Martin and Coldplay, they know how to write a hit single. Given Imbruglia hasn't had an album out since 2005's 'Counting Down the Days', her label has obviously opted to bring out the big guns for this comeback.
The 34-year-old Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia has revealed that she experienced a "semi-nervous breakdown" when working with Chris Martin on her new album. She admitted that collaborating with the Coldplay front-man was difficult because of his directness.
Natalie Imbruglia told NME: "When I worked with Chris Martin he was very honest and brutal with me. He helped me with my track-listing and we got rid of riff-raff. Sometimes we agreed, sometimes we disagreed."
Natalie Imbruglia added: "The hard bit is him saying which songs he doesn't like, but it's refreshing to have someone of that caliber with you.” "So yes - I had a semi-nervous breakdown", she admitted.

Coldplay - Gwyneth Paltrow Urges Chris Martin To Go Solo
Gwyneth Paltrow has been branded the Yoko Oko of Coldplay, because she’s trying to convince her husband Chris Martin to leave the band and go solo. The actress apparently feels her hubby will do better on his own.
“Gwyneth Paltrow has outright told Chris that he should consider going solo,” a source told Betty Confidential. “She is busy doing all of her projects and she wants him to diversify as well. She doesn’t have a problem with Coldplay, but she wants Chris Martin to think about trying a solo album just to see if he likes it.
“When Gwyneth Paltrow mentioned it, Chris Martin was furious. Chris loves the band and he has no desire to change things right now. Chris basically ignored her and walked away.”
In 2004, Gwyneth Paltrow said, “People ask if I will sing with the band or do a duet, but always in front of my mind is the Yoko effect. I don’t want to be known as the girl who split up Coldplay.”

Coldplay - Future
Chris Martin stated in December 2008 that he does not think "bands should keep going past 33", but later rephrased this to say that what he meant was that they must proceed "as if it's our last, because that's the only way to proceed".
It was rumoured that Coldplay were going to release a fifth studio album in late 2009, with the remaining material from the Viva la Vida sessions, but that turned into Prospekt's March (released in November 2008). The band plans on returning to the studio as soon as their Viva la Vida tour ends.
